Feast of Our Lady of Guia

The Nossa Senhora da Guia Horseback Ride is one of the most moving and traditional events in our sertão. Early in the morning, at Sítio Baldo (Campo Redondo, RN), cowboys, cowgirls, families, and friends gather for a special breakfast, marking the beginning of a journey of faith, unity, and tradition.

Mounted and full of energy, the participants ride 8 km to Serra dos Brandões, accompanied by the poetry and impromptu songs of Zé Lúcio and Zé Omar, who transform the journey into a spectacle of Northeastern Brazilian culture. The procession grows as riders from various neighboring towns join in, creating a vibrant scene of devotion, identity, and joy.

The arrival takes place at the Serra dos Brandões Gymnasium, where everyone is welcomed with a festive lunch and warm hospitality. The celebration continues with cultural performances and authentic forró music by Nelinho Forrozeiro, getting the crowd dancing and keeping the spirit of this beloved tradition alive.
