The Picuí Post Office (AC Picuí) is the main branch of the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company in this municipality in Paraíba, responsible for providing postal and telegraph services to the public. Institutional Partnership: In July 2025, the deputy mayor of Picuí, Patrício Dantas, met with representatives from the Post Office to optimize the distribution of property tax bills (IPTU) in the municipality. The partnership aims to ensure greater speed, efficiency, and organization in the delivery of tax documents to Picuí taxpayers.

Incident History: The branch has been the target of robberies in previous years. In 2018, two armed men held a security guard, employees, and customers at gunpoint, stealing money from the branch’s safe. In 2015 and 2016, the branch faced long lines of Christmas Bonus recipients and retirees seeking to make withdrawals, due to the unavailability of Banco do Brasil ATMs in the city at the time.

Fun fact: The Picuí branch also previously served as a service point for Banco Postal, a franchise of Banco do Brasil, processing pension payments for social security beneficiaries. During periods of high demand, such as the Christmas Bonus payout, the branch’s facilities proved insufficient to handle the volume of people, resulting in lines that stretched over 100 meters.
